Updates 2/18/24
Well, I bought a fancy WordPress theme for the station but man, it was a pain in the butt to manage! So I’m simplifying things a bit. I know the site isn’t flashy but it is certainly much more functional. And hey, I always pick function before form! 🙂
Here’s what’s new:
- Friday Night Metal with Scotty Bud Melvin has launched and is making a big splash every time it airs! So good, in fact, we’re considering a re-run of the show later in the weekend…
- Balancing out FNM (haha!) is Worship With Andy Chrisman on Sunday mornings at 8 AM. It’s two hours of worship music to help you get ready for church.
- Your 45s Are 50 with Captain Hugh is being well received and airs Saturday at 7 AM and Sunday at 3 PM. It’s a fabulous walk down memory lane as Captain Hugh counts down the songs AND news headlines from 50 years ago each week!
Something that would REALLY help us out is to send folks either here to our website or tell them to install the Live365 app on their phone. Once they have that installed, all they need to do is look for Michigan Mix Radio and add us as a favorite. There are also a LOT of great internet radio stations out there besides ours to discover.

Your host is none other than Scotty “Bud” Melvin, who’s been on your radio in Southwest Michigan for nearly 40 years. This dude loves his metal and is chomping to help you punish your neighbors with a great selection 80’s metal. No radio station is playing a list like this. If you like your music heavy, tune in!
We are now running “Your 45’s are 50”, the weekly syndicated countdown and news headlines from 50 years ago this week. Catch that Saturday mornings at 7 AM and Sundays at 3 PM. This is really a fun and well produced show!
